Founder and Chief Executive Officer Joe Ricketts conceived The American Film Company to celebrate the extraordinary characters and events from American history. Inspired by the power of film to engage, Ricketts created TAFC with the vision that films can entertain while changing the way audiences view our collective past.
An entrepreneur at heart, Ricketts founded Ameritrade, the revolutionary online brokerage firm. Ricketts has now turned his focus to wide ranging businesses and charitable endeavors, including his family's purchase of the Chicago Cubs, a digital local news service (www.dnainfo.com), the world's largest bison retailer (www.highplainsbison.com), the premier Wyoming ranch destination (www.jacksonfork.com) and a charitable education foundation (www.opportunityeducation.org).
Brian Falk recently produced The American Film Company's first film, THE CONSPIRATOR. Brian has also produced more than eighty hours of broadcast news, documentaries, and television series worldwide for a variety of outlets including PBS, NBC, CNN, TLC, MTV, Court TV and Lifetime. Just prior to joining TAFC, Brian produced and directed three seasons of Food Network's hit prime-time series "Throwdown with Bobby Flay." Brian is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
