Joe Ricketts conceived The American Film Company to celebrate the extraordinary characters and events from American history. Inspired by the power of film to engage, Ricketts created TAFC with the vision that films can entertain while changing the way audiences view our collective past.
An entrepreneur at heart, Ricketts co-founded the ground-breaking financial services firm that eventually became TD Ameritrade, which today manages hundreds of billions of dollars in client assets and leads its competitors with hundreds of thousands of trades per day. Mr. Ricketts served as Chief Executive Officer of Ameritrade Holding Corp. from 1982 to 2001 and Chairman from 1982 to 2008. Since 2008, he has devoted himself to a variety of early stage ventures, including The American Film Company, DNAinfo.com, High Plains Bison, The Lodge at Jackson Fork Ranch, Opportunity Education Foundation, and the Ricketts Conservation Foundation.
Brian Falk recently directed GHOSTS OF THE PACIFIC for The American Film Company. His producing credits include THE CONSPIRATOR and PARKLAND. Brian has also produced more than eighty hours of broadcast news, documentaries, and television series worldwide for a variety of outlets including PBS, NBC, CNN, TLC, MTV, Court TV, Food Network and Lifetime. Brian is a member of the Producers Guild of America.
